The final price depends on the type of wood chosen, the intricacy of the design, and the style of the artwork chosen. In my new Designer Series calls, you design the entire call to your preferences. You can choose the types of woods you would like for the lid, the box, and the bottom, as well as the inlays. You can also choose the type of checkering you’d like on the top and the box, and you can choose between solid or laminated bottoms. You can also specify any artwork you would like on the call. You can choose to have the turkey bust that appears on my Signature Grade calls, or a feather, or fan, or any other artwork that you might want. If you’d like a specific picture on your call, I can do this providing you send me a photo of what you’d like. A few examples of the type of artwork available and what they look like on the calls appear below. To give you a better idea of the choices available to you, I have some examples of each part of the call below. |

Tops: Each top can have either single-checkering, double-checkering, or triple-checkering. You can also choose the type of wood you want for the top, as well as the inlay colors. This picture shows the three different types of checkering options on three different types of wood. The top on the left is made out of Walnut with single-checkering and has Red Cedar inlays. The middle top is made of Maple and has double-checkering with Walnut inlays. The top to the right is made out of Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry) with triple-checkering with two different inlays: Red Cedar on the inside and Walnut on the outside. |

Boxes (Sound Chambers): You can choose any type of wood you would like the box to be made from, and you can choose among single, double, or triple-checkering on the sides. I recommend (but it’s not required, or course) that you have the same type of checkering on the box as you choose for the lids. Each box can have either a single inlay or a double inlay under the checkering, depending on what you want. The inlays can be made from any wood you choose, providing I can get it or you can supply it. |

Bottoms: You can choose either a solid bottom or a laminated bottom in your choice of woods. The picture shows a solid bottom on top and a laminated bottom underneath. The solid bottom is Walnut, and the laminated example is made out of two pieces of Walnut with a piece of Maple sandwiched between them. |

Available Artwork: This picture gives you some idea of what your call could look like. While many customers prefer the type of artwork shown here, you are not limited to these paintings. Each drawing will be hand-painted by a noted wildlife artist, and can be one of the designs pictured or it can be based on a photo you provide. The lid on the left is made from Maple, and has double-checkering, Cedar and Maple inlays, and has a turkey bust painting on it. The next lid is made from Walnut with double-checkering and Cedar and Maple inlays, and has four turkey feathers representing the four species of turkey in North America painted on it. The third lid is made from Cedar with double-checkering and Poplar inlays, and has a fan painted on it. The right-most lid is a double-checkered Walnut lid with Cedar and Maple inlays, and has a single feather painted on it. |
